Mickey Reeves is an innovative banjoist known for his distinctive blend of bluegrass, jazz, and classical genres. His musical journey commenced at age 14 with the guitar, yet it was the legendary Earl Scruggs who sparked his fascination with the banjo.

Devoting countless hours to practice, Mickey aimed to master Scruggs' style. At 15, while sharing his early banjo recordings online, he caught the attention of world-renowned banjo virtuoso Bill Keith, who offered him mentorship. Under Keith's guidance, Mickey embarked on a quest to carve out his own unique banjo sound, drawing inspiration from jazz luminaries like John Coltrane, Chick Corea, and Béla Fleck.

Travels with his mentor across Europe, New York, Nashville, and beyond further shaped Mickey's musical evolution, blending traditional bluegrass with jazz improvisation.

Mickey's journey also encompasses personal triumphs; overcoming alcohol struggles at 23, he found strength and inspiration in his commitment to sobriety. Mickey views musical composition as a reflection of his life—adventurous, marked by both tragedy and triumph, weaving a tapestry of emotions and experiences.
